Summertime Spruce Up

It's official. School is out, tourists are everywhere, and the summertime vibes are STRONG. With every changing season I start to get that itch to do a home spruce up to keep things fresh and keep my space inspiring. My husband and I also just moved into a new home over the weekend which always causes my mind to spin with redecorating ideas. Nothing like a clean slate to send me scrolling through endless Pinterest pages to gather my thoughts for what new look I want to achieve in my home. In the process of my inspiration quest I noticed a few summertime trends that are worth sharing. Keep scrolling for some solid home spruce up inspo!

The common theme of natural, light woods is everywhere and my Scandinavian loving soul is happy. I love the light and airy feel that this tone of wood adds to any space - whether indoors or out!

Flat woven rugs are a perfect layering rug and also a great way to spruce up your space without breaking the bank and splurging for a handwoven or wool area rug. I actually just scored a flat woven rug for my bathroom at IKEA for under $4! Who knew you could purchase a rug for less than your Starbucks latte costs.

Desert vibes. I'm sure you have noticed but this is the theme all over the place! Kind of this rustic, minimal, effortless look in those terra cotta color hues that sets the stage for the ideal summer atmosphere.

Modern & Boho meet with this trend of cane/rattan/wicker furniture in really modern, structured formats. It's an easy way to dip your toes into that free spirit, beach vibe without going crazy deep into the boho style. It's also a perfect way to introduce another texture and interest layer into your space.

My sweet and insanely talented friend, Kelli Murray (owner + designer of Rylee and Cru & Quincy Mae) designed a collection of wallpapers for Lulu & Georgia that are the perfect summertime spruce up for your home. This tropical one is such a fun way to bring the indoors in.

Whatever your style for summer is, we would love to hear from you! Drop us a line and lets brainstorm your new space together!

XO,

Hannah
